There was a recent article in The Capital that caught my eye about how a couple teenage boys gang raped a 7-year old girl. Other than thinking "how do kids get these ideas?" I was simply thinking just why they did it. But this is an issue that I believe needs to be deeply thought about and I dont think that it gets taken seriously. The 7-year olds step sister sold her to these young kids for money. Where on earth did this girl get that idea? I believe it comes from the media.
There are so many movies and television shows where we see situations like this, and it's easy access to the younger generation. I'm not saying that movies need to stop being made that show these kinds of things, but something needs to be done when it comes to kids, and someone has to be blamed for why this happened. Rape should to be taken just as seriously as anything else, and the media or parents need to make it harder for the children to get access to anything that portrays it.

I absolutely agree with you on that. There are so many movies, TV shows, video games, and etc that feature violence, sex, drugs, and etc that we have become so desensitized to what is really happening. Think about our parents generation and what they had on TV. People would have been appalled to see these kinds of things in the media. This changes in our generation can definatly have terrible affects on the future.

Because when I found out about this I believe it happened in New Jersey, well it doesn't really matter where it took place but I just think that United States need to change or adjust the laws we have. There is no reason why people should have to endure this type of violence here in our country. If pedophiles get the maximum then it wouldn't be so many children being abused everyday. These people are doing these things because they are getting away with it and its like getting away with murder. This 7yr old child has been murdered she might have lived through this but she will never be able to have a normal life. These people should be convicted on murder charges!
