Millionare Matchmaker: Change Yourself

Millionare Matchmaker, the show on Bravo TV, is directed towards millionares who just cant seem to find love in their life. Or atleast just can't find anyone who doesn't want their money. Pattie Stanger, the star of the show, finds particular individuals in the L.A area, who she thinks are compatable to the certain millionare that is in need. She has a high success rate and believes to be doing well. Patti, also doesn't seem to have a problem telling people to be different.

In order for people to be "happy" in a relationship, sometimes they just can't be themselves. In almost every episode of this show, she tell's the millionares every flaw that she notices in them, and tell's some of them that they just dont have the full package. It shocks me sometimes at the things that she says, such as "men like vulnerable", "your to successful for him to like you, he will be intimidated". Because someone is very successful, a man won't like them? This show that is suppose to help people find love and make them happy in the end, can hurt someone's confidence in the process.

The episodes I have seen, the millionare almost never ends up with Patti's choice. Maybe it just goes to show that you shouldn't change yourself for someone else? And a woman being successful, is not a bad thing! Who cares, sometimes you should intimidate the man.

  1. I wholeheartedly agree with you. For someone to be so selfish that they need to find and correct the flaws in men so that can feel better about themselves is incredibly ridiculous. I disagree with her methods and find her to be part of the problem with self esteem issues in women and men. If her show is popular then what that says to men and women is that no one will accept me for me so I have to change and become what popular culture says is attractive or mate-able. Ridiculous.

  2. I agree she does put the men down allot. I don't understand why she try to change these guys overnight. If a person cant accept the guy for his flaws then obviously they are not the right match. She misjudge the men on that show, it seems as if she matches them by looks and not by personality. If I were trying to find someone to love I would want to know his flaws and that would help me in the process of making a decision. Flaws actaully can be really fascinating because those women might have the exact same flaws!
